Overview

About This Activity

There’s no better way to feel the calm of the Sahara than on the back of a camel. Your camel guide leads the caravan out of the village and into the orange and golden dunes of Erg Chebbi – about 30 minutes of slow, rocking walk.

Near the big dune you leave the camels and walk a short way to a perfect sunset spot. Feeling energetic? Climb the highest dune (around 10 more minutes) for a 360° view. On the way back we stop in a palm garden to show you the old desert irrigation channels.

Highlights

  • Camel ride into Erg Chebbi
  • Sunset or sunrise over the dunes
  • Optional climb of the highest dune
